Last week our diarist happened to ask for a collective noun for a group of Ospreys, after all anything would be better than a “glut of Ospreys”. O.K. so some of you have taken up the challenge!

Judy from Cheshire suggests a “ Trawlerboat of Ospreys”

Sue from somewhere in UK suggests “a Duet or even a Quintet of Ospreys”

Jill from Embleton puts forward “a Hover” of Ospreys

And young Nathan from Braithwaite contributes with “a Scale of Ospreys, a Plunge of Ospreys” and even “a Pandion of Ospreys”.

We are still open to offers; especially as we still have five Ospreys in the air looking for a collective noun as well as a fish, but be careful it’s addictive and please limit yourself to no more than three suggestions.
